About the Wiltshire LMC
The Wiltshire LMC represents the interests of GPs working in the areas of the four PCTs within the County of Wiltshire and the Borough of Swindon:
Kennet and North Wiltshire PCT, South Wiltshire PCT, Swindon PCT and West Wiltshire PCT.
The members are elected from the GPs in these 4 constituencies with additional co-opted mebers representing the Armed Forces Medical Services and GP
Educationalists. The full Committee meets 5 times a year with a smaller Executative Committee meeting on 5 further occasions.
The LMC is supported by a permanent office in Winchester, headed up by the Chief Executive for all 5 Wessex LMCs, Dr Nigel Watson.
The purpose of the
committee, assisted by the office, is to support all GPs in their work, offer advice and help to practices, and to represent their views to the PCTs and Strategic Health Authority.
The LMC can help with negotiations with the PCTs about issues of finance, staffing and workload.
We also offer helpful advice to PCT staff on issues affecting Primary Care.
Dr Watson (Chief Executive) or Dr Bryant (Chairman) will be happy to help on any issues affecting GPs or their work.
