I have been addicted to working with fabric ever since I was a small girl, making dolls clothes and progressing
to entire wardrobes for the whole family. Since my initial efforts with patchwork and quilting I have become more interested in using a base of traditional pattern and methods and adding my own embellishment techniques.
I enjoy working with natural
fabrics, cotton, wools and silks and forming traditional patchwork patterns. I then like to add extra interest with hand embroidery, beading and texture, sometimes with unusual and unexpected items such as paper, plastics and metals.
I like to work mainly by hand,
gaining pleasure from the texture and feel of the piece on which I am working. The whole process becomes very relaxing and therapeutic.
Living in the midst of The New
Forest gives me the most wonderful areas in which to walk and gain inspiration. I love the ever changing scenery, but am happiest observing the splendid trees in the middle of Winter.
