Lyn Lambert
My interest in patchwork and quilting began in 1987 when I first made a Dresden Plate design cushion complete with frill. In the following
years I was drawn to the Amish quilts, mainly by their simplicity and their sludgy colours and my early quilts were made in a similar vein.
I have no formal art training but I completed City and Guilds Parts 1 and 2 in Patchwork, Quilting and Design and thoroughly
enjoyed it and I became interested in contemporary quilts and wall hangings as a result.
A love of archaeology and anthropology is shown in my recent work which depicts different cultures and customs from indigenous
people in North America and South America. My other love is flora and fauna and again these feature in my work.
I have exhibited nationally and internationally and some of my work is in private collections both here and overseas.
I am an exhibiting member of By Design.
